Arms of the Mexican Army
Regular Mexican Line Infantry used a combination of British Lane Pattern Muskets (a 39 inch barrel of .752-.760 caliber), the India Pattern Sergeants Carbines (a 37 inch barrel of .65 caliber), and the Spanish Escopeta(a 33.5 inch barrel of .75 caliber). The India Pattern Sergeants Carbines being a reasonable assumption of what the Line Infantry used during the Revolution and the Siege of the Alamo. The British Lane Pattern Musket would be augmented with a 17 inch bayonet. Since the Mexican government never standardized which weapons it's army would use, regulars would receive many variations. Mostly receiving throwaways from the British government and keeping the better weapons for themselves, it would right to assume that the Mexican Army would wield the older more cruder weapons.
Light Infantry or Cazadores would the two just mentioned or if they got lucky, the British Baker Rifle (a 30 inch barrel of .625 caliber). It is believed that Ben Milan was felled to Cazador wielding a Baker Rifle. The Baker Rifle was augmented with a 23 inch sword bayonet.
Cavalry department used a combination of India Pattern Sergeants Carbines, Baker Rifles, shorter Brown Bess variants, Tower flintlock carbine of 1812.
Arms of the Texian Army
Volunteers used a wide variety of weapons.
